Citta Design improves accuracy of information and product planning
New Zealand based design brand Citta Design specialises in textile design, furniture and fashion. Over the past few years, the business has expanded with stores in Australia and New Zealand and distribution around the world. We talk to Grant Taylor, Chief Operating Officer of Citta Design about deploying Sable37’s ICON series of apps to extend the functionality of its Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation.
Why ICON 365?
With a cloud based ERP system, Citta Design has the systems it needed to fuel its ambitious growth plans. Grant Taylor was clear about what he wanted. “We needed a Microsoft partner who understood the demands and complexities of a global retail business. With Sable37’s intellectual property and modules – the ICON series, we have a more well-rounded and full, rich, end-to-end experience.”
Accuracy of information
In the homewares and furniture business, products are often ordered in once the customer purchases it in-store or online. With Sable37’s Inbound Transportation Module for Microsoft Dynamics, Citta Design can provide customers with accurate information on product arrival in store or to their destination. It also enables staff to assist customers on the store floor, or on the phone with real-time, accurate information on where stock is. This works well to manage customer expectations and provides staff with what they need to deliver a positive customer experience.
Planning and forecasting
For its furniture business, Citta Design uses Sable37’s Product Lifecycle Management module. While it’s early days in the implementation process, Grant is excited about the benefits it will deliver. “PLM will feed into the buying and planning process and help us forecast. Additionally, and more importantly, it will help us manage our critical path around product execution – getting products manufactured and distributed.”
“Don’t be afraid of modules. They’re a part of the Microsoft ecosystem and enable you to deliver richer functionality within the business.”

Any benefits for the business?
“There are definite advantages to integrating specialised modules with Microsoft Dynamics”, says Grant. “We distribute our products to companies across Asia and America. Being able to plan across multiple locations, with accurate real-time information is a huge benefit.”
Grant’s advice to others in the industry is simple. “Don’t be afraid of modules. They’re a part of the Microsoft ecosystem and enable you to deliver richer functionality within the business.”
